I was looking for some male bodies to practice photographing because I had it in my head that photographing the male body would be vastly different from photographing the female body for intimate portraiture. Evan was referred to me by a darling mutual friend of ours. He is an actor and model and is amazing to work with. Looking for a model or actor for your next project? Check out Evan.

Back to talking about photographing all the bodies. There was a mental block when it came to photographing men. I don't have a lot of experience photographing men intimately, so it was a little daunting. Sure, there are some poses that some men might not want to do because they seem too feminine and more women do yoga than men, so they may not be as bendy. But really, it's not that different and I'm so glad my mental block around this is gone. There are a lot of boudoir photographers out there that don't photograph men. This is for so many reasons and they're all valid because they're all choices they made for their businesses. It's a great thing that we can run our business models any way that we want!

I chose to add men into my business model because I wanted to be completely inclusive. As the mother of three boys I know how body image can affect not just girls and from a very young age. I've been around humans my whole life and I see it in all adults... they just want to be accepted for who they are in this moment. They want to feel attractive to themselves and to the world around them. I feel like men need more representation across the board showing them that it is okay to be vulnerable and step out of their comfort zone and be photographed all on their lonesome. All people can have insecurities about their appearance and they can also have desires to be seen differently...and to feel more positive and gorgeous in their own skin. I wanted everyone to know that if they're looking for an intimate portrait experience that my space is open to them.

What was your absolute most favorite photo from your session and how does it make you feel?

Me on floor, back arched, feeling the vibes with the sun cascading over me.
